Tom Rees is an Applied Marine Technician working at PML Applications within the Centre for Marine Biofouling and Corrosion (CMBC), specialising in practical engineering, fieldwork, workshop and laboratory management. He works closely with the CMBC and PML Applications teams to ensure the successful execution of marine research projects within the field, focusing on biofouling, corrosion, and environmental monitoring. Tom’s role in the development, deployment, and management of client samples, equipment, and surveys plays a vital part in advancing marine research and biofouling studies.

Tom has a strong background in environmental studies, holding both a First-Class BSc (Hons) in Environmental Science and a Merit MRes in Applied Marine Sciences from the University of Plymouth. His studies have provided him with a comprehensive understanding of terrestrial and aquatic pollution, marine legislation, environmental and marine conservation, and the application of marine research techniques. Additionally, Tom is skilled in data processing and applied marine research, supporting his role in advancing environmental sustainability and marine conservation efforts.
