Guy Hooper is an Applied Marine Scientist within the Centre for Coastal Technologies at PML Applications. He has a broad research background and is currently in the final stages of completing his PhD on the potential marine environmental impacts of Direct Ocean Capture - a novel marine carbon dioxide removal technology. His research contributed to the SeaCURE project, which piloted the UK’s first marine carbon dioxide removal facility.

Alongside his role at PML Applications, Guy volunteers as crew on the Plymouth lifeboat.

Guy holds an MSc in Marine Conservation from the University of Plymouth and a BSc in Marine Geography from Cardiff University.

He has published papers on:
