Dr Tamsin Dobson is a Chartered Engineer (IMarEST) with over 10 years’ experience in the marine engineering industry. She is dedicated to interdisciplinary research and enjoys working on the interface between marine science and engineering. She has proven skills in biocorrosion, data analysis, materials science, sensor technology, mechanical engineering stress analysis and dry dock engineering management.
Tamsin holds two undergraduate degrees (Engineering and Marine Biology), two Masters (Marine Technology and Zoology) and a PhD in Mechanical Engineering where she published 5 papers from her research. Her published work includes the analysis of marine biocorrosion mechanisms in welded Nickel Aluminium Bronze, a finite element modelling study of corrosion pits, a review on the interaction between offshore engineering projects and marine life and a discussion of the results from long-term biocorrosion studies carried out at PML Applications.
Tamsin is one of PML Application’s Applied Marine Scientists and is the team’s Biocorrosion Lead.
