PML Applications’ Manager of the Centre for Coastal Technologies and Commercial head of Smart Sound, Sam Fawcett, is a qualified molecular biologist and applied scientist, offering support and specialist consultation in a diverse range of sectors, including marine carbon dioxide removal, defence, marine deployment and recovery, and marine autonomy. Sam’s excellent rapport with key stakeholders is combined with prompt delivery of projects at a high standard, leading to many active commercial links.

In Sam's previous work at PML Applications, he led our first ocean alkalinity enhancement (OAE) trial, producing valuable information about the viability of OAE as a method for carbon dioxide removal (published in Nature Communications – Earth and Environment). His excellent reputation in the field of OAE, led to an invitation to present a framework for monitoring environmental impact of OAE trials at the annual Carbon to Sea Conference in Washington, D.C.
