PML Applications is delighted to announce that we are an official sponsor of the Coastal Futures 2026 conference. We will have a stand at the event on 28th–29th January 2026 at the Royal Geographical Society, joining the UK’s largest ocean conference.
Coastal Futures provides a vital forum for collaboration across science, policy, and industry, and we are looking forward to taking part. The 2026 theme, ‘From ambition to action’, strongly reflects PML Applications’ mission to translate cutting-edge marine research into practical, real-world solutions.
Coastal Futures provides comprehensive coverage of the critical current and future issues and is a platform for knowledge sharing, networking, promotion, and training opportunities. Spanning across two days, PML Applications will be among 750 delegates from 200 organisations.
This year’s ‘From ambition to action’ theme provides a focus on navigating the effects that rising demand for space and resources has on the future of our ocean. Through collaboration on policies, partnerships, and innovation, we work towards a thriving and protected ocean, taking into account how the ocean underpins our climate, our economy, and our well-being.
Throughout the conference, representatives from across our marine environmental consultancy will be available at our PML Applications stand. Our team would love to hear about the marine environmental, marine survey or geospatial data insight challenges you are facing in your business and talk about how we can help provide solutions, including how our CORDIAL Earth observation platform can support your project.
Specifically, Emmanuel Nwokocha from our Centre for Geospatial Applications will be available to demonstrate our Earth observation data analysis platform, CORDIAL. CORDIAL is a collaborative space with a user-friendly interface and Python code workspace that can be tailored to your Earth observation and data analysis needs. It can be set up to give alerts and to generate datasets and analysis to help your needs across (but not limited to):
- Water quality monitoring projects
- Land classification projects
- Habitat assessment and regeneration projects
- Flooding response projects

Representing our Centre for Environmental Solutions, Dr Dimitrios Kaloudis, Heidi Tillin, and Michael Day are looking forward to discussing various subjects surrounding the development and application of eDNA tools, natural capital, ecosystem services, blue carbon valuation, marine spatial planning and biodiversity net gain – a taster of the subjects and services they specialise in.
